Help Ian Guthrie perform in Italy!

Blog

Ian Guthrie just got accepted into the highly-competitive highSCORE Festival in Italy, where he he will attend workshops and have private lessons with the Pulitzer Prize winning composer Julia Wolfe, Amy Beth Kirsten, Rome Prize winner and Guggenheim Fellow Christopher Theofanidis, Dmitri Tymoczko, and others, write them a string quartet, and present on his own music.
In addition, he was granted membership into the Pi Kappa Lambda – the only Music Honor Society recognized by the association of College Honor Societies.
Lastly, he has been invited to perform his award-winning work “Journey Through Cascadia” at the annual TMTA Convention in Texas.

He am looking for support to be able to afford these events – especially the festival in Italy. He will establish kickstarter in the next day or so. You can also donate via PayPal to ian.evans.guthrie@gmail.com. He will derive one of the string quartet’s motives from the names of whoever donates $100 or more; the person’s name will also be one of the names in the list of acknowledgements in the published program notes. Why not take a part in this process for a great cause?
